About Us ...

The building is home to many community groups
serving the arts, culture and recreation.

Mandate......To provide a place where organizations of all ages within our community feel welcome, and are able to pursue their group's purpose. Also, to provide adequate space and permanent homes for these groups at a fair and reasonable cost.

Our History

• City Council purchased Parkview School August 1, 2001 for the purpose of creating a cultural centre for the community and surrounding area.
• The Melville Arts Council, a non profit organization formed an executive to govern this new cultural centre.
• Melville Community Works, your arts culutre and recreational centre has recieved grants to maintain programming allowing us th oppotunity to employ staff.
• We welcome volunteers and new members to further strenghten Melville Community Works presence in our community.
• We run day and evening art classes for children youth and adults which include painting, pottery, wheel work and handbuilding.
• We have been working on a new sculpture garden on the West side of the building.

Become a member of the Melville Arts Council

Membership in the Arts Council is one way of supporting ongoing projects of the centre.Our membership year runs from September 1 -August 31.

Full Member (voting privleges) - $20.00

Associate Member (non voting) - $20.00

Correspondent Member (non voting) -$20.00
